Swedish wife and mother that got addicted to scrapbooking and card making in 2006!

A while ago, I decided to apply to the DT over at Scrapbook Essentials. I love the forum over there, and have done a lot of their challenges. I knew when I started that my chances were slim, but decided to go for it anyway. I am of course disappointed that I didn't make the team - why else would I apply? But mostly, I am very proud of my entries that I can now show you.

1. Single layout with the theme of "Moments/Defining Moment". Journalling reads:

One of the most pivotal moments in my life is when I found out I had cancer. It is almost 11 years ago now, but that moment is so clear in my mind, it could have happened yesterday. When I first got the news, I was of course devastated, confused, angry and scared. I also felt like the loneliest person in the world, I felt like God had turned his back on me. But a couple of days later when I had cried, cursed and blamed the world for what had happened to me, I decided to fight back.  I decided that I was in charge, and that I was going to win the battle with cancer with love and positive energy. I am now cancer free, but I still treat every day like it is my last. Cancer has been the worst and best thing that has ever happened to me.

2. Double layout using at least 3 photos, and showcasing a particular technique.

The technique I used (actually kinda trying it for real for the first time - oops!) is doodling.

3. Off-the-page project, to be given as a Christmas present.

I went a little bit crazy here, and collected empty toilet rools from home and from friends... The result is an Advent Calendar. It's the Swedish kind where you get a present every day, not chocolate! This one (if I can pack it properly) will go to my niece and nephew in Sweden.

Well I have already told you, but I am also really proud of you for giving it a go.
Even in the few months I have known you I have really seen your scrapbooking grow, and believe me, this is only the beginning for you my friend.
You will get there!!!

Annelie, your work for the DT is wonderful!!! I love all three of your projects. It is easy to see a lot of heart, soul and time went into these! You are so brave having been through cncer in your 20's, and having such a strong sense of self and what is important. Keep up the fantastic woek. And congrats on being 2nd in Louise's blog challenge!

Åh vilka underbara layouter du har gjort! Absolut störtsnygga ju!! Kalendern...så genialt! Här ska börjas samlas srullar för glatta livet till nästa jul. :)

Annelie they are fantastic and would have to agree with the others that this would have to be some of best that you have done.

Vilka superfina layouter du har gjort!!! Jag förstår att du blev besviken över att du inte kom med den här gången. Men man får inte ge upp utan fortsätta att söka - du gör jätte fina saker!

WOOOOOW vilken häftig adventskalender!! Får man sno idén till nästa år? Helt otroligt kul och snygg. Vilka härliga layouter du gör och det har hänt så mycket med din stil på sistone, du verkar säkrare och vågar ta ut svängarna och med en personlig prägel. Me like!! Din cancer-LO är så stark och häftigt gjord, så härligt att få ner allt det där på pränt kan jag tro. Kramisar från the kiwi-family in snowland. ;)

Wow vilken snygg doodling, tänk om man hade den talangen själv - har försökt många gånger med lite katastrofresultat :) Den första LO om dig gillar jag verkligen färgerna på också, snyggt!

... och dessutom ett väldigt viktigt ämne att scrappa om, vill jag tillägga. Strongt att scrappa och allvarligt också.
